Some ultrasonic sensors use a separate panel mount controller for as an interface between the transducer elements and the user system. These remote DIN mount devices are used to power, trigger and evaluate the return feedback signals from up to four remote transducers.
These remote controllers, which interface directly to the transducer elements, initiate the ultrasonic sensor's measurement cycle and then evaluate the time-delayed echo signal provided from the transducer element. This time delayed pulse signal is then converted to an output signal, analog or switchpoint, representing the target distance which is used by the interfaced system.
