Safety-relevant temperature measurements can now be automated with the KF**-GUT-**1.D. The combination of a temperature measurement converter with analog output and a limit switch with 2 relays covers a wide range of applications—and all in SIL2, conforming to IEC 61508. Devices supplied since 2004, from Firmware version 1.09, are suitable.
The universal measured value input is processed by resistance measuring sensors in the platinum and nickel version. For thermocouple measurements a special function is available. An additional input for a redundant thermocouple provides additional safety against sensor failure and cable breakage. If a thermocouple fails, the other element takes over the measuring function with the simultaneous output of an alarm – which therefore increases the availability of your process.
A simple device for many purposes
The KF**-GUT also evaluates other signals, such as potentiometer and voltage signals, from mV to V. The operator-friendly parameterization of the devices is achieved either using touch keys and the display or with a PC and PACTware software.
Two limit value relays and an analog current output are available on the output side. The version with a wide-range power pack reduces the need to stock spares with different power supply voltages for different global locations.
